It’s never wrong to mix pleasure with business, politics in the current matter, to be precise. While preparing for the upcoming European Parliament elections have some fun and vote for your favorite culinary dish.

The European Parliament has launched a campaign “A Taste of Europe,” and Facebook users can vote for their favorite national dish of the twenty eight EU member states. Each country has nominated one dish to be represented, and of course, the dish from Bulgaria is the very fresh and delicious Shopska salad.

And as we write, we are proud to announce that the #shopskasalad is in the lead, slightly ahead of Lithuania's Saltibarsciai cold red beet soup. If you love the salad, hurry up, there are few more days left to decide. Vote for #tasteofEurope, take your pick here.

PS: If you’ve never had the Shopska Salad, do try it, it's easy to make. Here is the recipe:

Ingredients (for a single serving):

• 1 tomatoes
• 1/2 of cucumber
• 1/2 of green or red peppers (roasted or raw)
• ¼ of an onion
• Parsley for garnish
• 1/2 cup Bulgarian feta cheese

Preparation:

1. Chop the tomato, cucumber, pepper and onion. 
2. Grate the fate cheese on top until if covers the vegetables (you can also use crumbled feta).Garnish with a parsley on top.
3. Before enjoying, season to taste with oil and vinegar and gently mix.
