In addition to one of the finest wineries in Bulgaria - Magura, you will be able to explore some of the most famous points of interest in the region- Baba Vida Fortress, Magura Cave and one of the new wonders of the World - the Belogradchik Rocks.

Locations: Belogradchik → Sofia (164Km, 2Hrs 30Min)Explore the famous Belogradchik Rock Formations and the Kaleto fortress. The Fortress dates back to 1st-3rd century AD and was built by the Romans to guard the roads of the new provinces of the empire on the Balkan Peninsula. The fortress was used in Ottoman times and during the Balkan War in 1885.

Depart Sofia and in about 3 hours we willl arrive in Vidin, situated on the banks of the Danube River. Visti the Baba Vida Fortress, built in the 10th century, and later expanded through 12th -14th century. This medieval palace was home to the last Bulgarian King, Ivan Strashimir, before Bulgaria’s fall to the Ottoman Empire and also served as a defensive fort.
On the way back to Belogradchik, we will visit the Magura winery and taste its wines in the Magura Cave. The cave is famous for its drawings from different eras – the early Paleolithic, early and later Neolithic and the Bronze Age.
Continue to Belogradchik for an overnight stay.
